How to Join an Organization
Your organization's admin adds members either manually or by sharing a keyword and phone number with you. You cannot sign yourself up independently.
When the admin adds you directly, you'll receive a welcome text from the organization's number. No action is required on your part — you're in.
If you were given a keyword and a phone number (via flyer, QR code, or email), text that keyword to join — see "How to Join a Group" below.
How to Join a Group
Your organization will share a keyword and a phone number with you — often printed on a flyer, displayed as a QR code, or sent via email.
Text JOIN followed by the keyword to the organization's number. For example, to join the "Band 2026" group you would text JOIN BAND2026. Capitalization doesn't matter.
You'll receive a confirmation text within seconds. If you scan a QR code, it will open your messaging app with the full JOIN message already filled in — just tap Send.
To subscribe to the organization without joining a specific group, just text JOIN on its own. You'll receive org-wide announcements.
How to Leave a Group
Text LEAVE followed by the group keyword to the organization's number. For example: LEAVE BAND2026. You'll receive a confirmation.
To leave all groups and unsubscribe from the organization entirely, text LEAVE on its own.
You can rejoin at any time by texting JOIN or JOIN BAND2026 again.
Your message history and profile remain on file for the organization's records after leaving, as required for record-keeping purposes.
How to Stop All Messages
Reply STOP to any text message from the organization. This works from any phone, at any time, with no account required.
You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further texts from that organization's number. This opt-out is permanent until you choose to rejoin.
This opt-out is enforced at the carrier level — the organization cannot override it or continue messaging you.
If you want help instead of opting out, reply HELP to receive a message with contact information for the organization and opt-out instructions.
STOP opts you out of all messages from that specific organization's number. If you belong to multiple organizations using Rally.msg, each has its own number — you would need to reply STOP to each separately.
Prefer to manage online?
Almost everything above can be done by replying to a text — no app, no account needed. But if you'd rather manage your group memberships and notification preferences from a web browser, the Rally.msg member portal lets you:
- →See every organization and group you belong to
- →Leave individual groups or remove yourself from an organization entirely
- →Unsubscribe from email notifications without affecting your SMS messages
No password required — just enter your mobile number and we'll text you a verification code.
Still need help?
For questions about your messages or to request removal from an organization, contact the organization directly by replying to their number. For questions about Rally.msg itself:
